Groceries Code Adjudicator Statutory Review Consultation 2022

In 2013, after years of campaigning from Transform Trade and others, the Government introduced a watchdog to regulate the unfair buying practices prevalent in the groceries sector - the Groceries Code Adjudicator (GCA). The Groceries Code Adjudicator Act 2013 requires the government to review the performance and effectiveness of the GCA.

This third review covers the period since the last review of the GCA.

Transform Trade highlighted the significance of the GCA’s impact at reducing code breaches and advocated for keeping the GCA independent.
