Farming

We support farmers overcoming huge barriers with ingenuity and passion

Our partners are transforming farming by innovating new ways of working that benefit both people and planet.

We seek out farmers’ groups, social enterprises, and local NGOs conducting transformative work in their communities.

We then ask how we can support them best. Whether that’s transferring skills, sharing new research and learnings, or convening meetings to speak directly with government officials or trading partners.

Participatory Grant making in Kenya

Since May 2021, we’ve been working with farmers in Meru and Kitui counties in Kenya to trial a participatory grant making approach. The programme was developed in partnership with communities focusing on increasing incomes, accessing new markets and building stronger resilience to climate change.

One third of food produced globally is either lost or wasted.

2.5x

Stop UPOV91

An obscure mechanism in UK trade deals, UPOV91, is stopping farmers from saving, swapping and selling some seeds on their own land.

Stand with farmers and back their call for autonomy over their seeds and an end to UPOV91.
