Top fundraising tips for your Big Brew!
Looking for new ideas for your coffee morning? We’ve gathered some inspiration to get your guests involved:
1. Hold a tea tasting
Big Brew 2025 is focused on supporting tea farmers fighting back against the impacts of climate change, and a trade system rigged against them. These farmers grow the leaves that make the world’s most popular beverage - and there are countless varieties to choose from. Why not turn your Big Brew into an afternoon tea, and have a tasting session to find your favorite blends - including our very own Traidcraft tea! You can also find plenty of tea to choose from via our Ethical Partners True Origin, Premcrest and Ethical Superstore.
2. Don’t forget the Big Brew Quiz
Who hosted the first afternoon tea?
Where does our tea come from?
How was tea discovered?
Test your guest’s knowledge with our fun quiz for Big Brew 2025 (and don’t forget a prize for the winner!)
3. Guess the number of tea bags in the tea pot
A twist on the classic sweets in a jar game. This year we are raising money to support tea growers and smallholders - so why not make your whole Big Brew tea themed? Find someone willing to bring in a lovely tea pot, stuff it full to the brim with tea bags and let your guests guess how many there are - charge £1 per guess, closest wins!
4. Compete in a cake competition!
Hold a cake baking competition - everyone brings in their best homemade sweet treats, plus a small entry fee, and all of your guests judge and vote for the winner!
5. Hold a jumble sale or clothes swap!
Spring is the perfect time to declutter - you could combine your coffee morning with a clothing swap. Everyone brings items that have sat at the back of their wardrobes for far too long (but are still in good condition) with them, and for every item they donate they receive a ticket with which to swap for another item. Don’t forget to organise plenty of hangers and clothes rails!
Keep track of your success!
For Big Brew 2025, we are encouraging everyone to aim for an ambitious goal of £300! No matter the final total, every penny will support terrific producers in Asia and Africa, and the fight for a fairer trade system around the world.
You can use this poster to track your progress – just shade in one extra crop for every £50 you raise.
If you hit the £300 mark (or surpass it), you’ll be congratulated with a lovely certificate.
Thank you so much for hosting a Big Brew - and please thank your amazing community for getting involved!
